This traditional Chinese recipe for cough relief is both delicious and soothing when you have a sore throat or cough.
Category: | Miscellaneous |
4 cups water |
1/4 cup almonds (about a handful) |
2 pears (any variety), cut into pieces |
1 to 2 large pieces tangerine peel (or orange) |
2 to 3 Tbsp. honey |
Did You Know: In several studies, honey has been found to be as effective as a common cough suppressant ingredient, dextromethorphan. It can be cheaper and no more late-night runs to the drugstore when you can't stop that nagging cough! However, if it's your little one that's sick, never give honey to a child younger than one-year-old.
